I bought one of these last week for the princely sum of R1274.00 including shipping to my office from Tarsus.
It comprises a Core 2 Duo AMD Athlon II 1.3Ghz processor, 1 x 1Gb PC3 DDR3 RAM (expandable to 8Gb), 1 x 250Gb Seagate SATA 7200rpm hard drive, Gigabit LAN, and 6 external USB slots. I promptly upgraded with a new Seagate 2Tb Green 5900 RPM HDD and 8Gb of Kingston DDR3 1333Mhz RAM. It can take up to 8Tb of storage with it's four hard drive brackets.

I've installed Fedora 15 without any issues and have subsequently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit without any problem. Windows Home Server may be an option but I'm quite chuffed with 7 so perhaps not.
I am glad I bought it. It comes sans optical drive but I'm quite happy to install OS' with my external slimline ASUS drive, minimising cost to the PSU. The health status of the machine is indicated by the bright blue HP badge just under the optical drive bay. Blue is GOOD.

I stopped this blog quite a while ago as I lost my 'muchness' somewhere on the road. I tried to find it by forcing myself to do what I had been doing before, in much the same way as I remembered, to no avail.
I just wasn't there anymore.

Was I ever? I think I had unintentionally become the external membrane that everyone has, and others are perhaps, but it changed me internally until there was nothing left. Elvis has left the building. Someone's back now, but I'm not sure who it is. Let's go for a drive, just you, and I.
